Blasts kill at least 7 US troops in Afghanistan
KABUL, Afghanistan -- Roadside bombs killed seven American troops on Monday _ including five in a single blast in Kandahar _ raising to more than a dozen the number who have died in the last three days.

Iraq goes on highest alert for terror attacks
BAGHDAD -- Iraq's prime minister put his nation on its highest level of alert for terror attacks, warning of plots to sow fear and chaos as the U.S. combat mission in the country formally ends on Tuesday.
