S. KOREA POSTS TRADE SURPLUS OF US$2.07 BLN IN AUGUST
SEOUL, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - South Korea posted a trade surplus of US$2.07 billion in August, the seventh month in a row that the balance has stayed in the black, a government report showed Wednesday. Exports surged 29.6 per cent on-year to $37.52 billion last month, with imports gaining 29.3 per cent to $35.45 billion, the monthly report by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said.

HSBC OPTIMISTIC ABOUT RMB CROSS-BORDER TRADE SETTLEMENTS
BEIJING, Sept 1 Asia Pulse - The HSBC Bank predicted that nearly half of China's imports and exports will be settled in RMB in next three or five years. Most of the RMB cross-border trade settlements will be conducted with emerging economies, according to the bank's forecast.
