Shares of Virginia Commerce Bancorp (VCBI) jumped 22% after announcing the withdrawl of its 75 million dollar common stock offering. Before the offering was announced, shares had traded above the 7 dollar mark, but news of the offering helped drive shares down to just above the 5 dollar mark which CEO Peter Converse said made the potential offering pricing below the company's minimum criteria. On Thursday, shares were changing hands above 6 dollars per share on the news. Brunswick Corporation (BC) announced that it has sold Triton Boats to Fishing Holdings, an affiliate of Platinum Equity. The deal comes as part of Brunswick's strategic review to refine its product portfolio and focus on its core brands. Brunswick also reported second quarter earnings of 15 cents per share, helped by a 40% jump in net sales year over year. Shares of Brunswick rallied more than 9%. Shares of ACADIA Pharmaceuticals (ACAD) jumped 24% after announcing it initiated a new phase III trial for its Parkinson's treatment. The disease affects over 1.5 million people in the United States according to the National Parkinson Foundation, and up to 40 percent of those patients may develop psychotic symptoms, which the company's treatment aims to combat. And shares of Innovative Solutions & Support (ISSC) advanced more than 22% after announcing a quarterly profit of 8 cents per share, and predicting it will continue to be profitable in the current quarter.
